List View

Overview

The List View displays a heirarchical view of all project entities including folders, sub folders and tasks. Only Project Administrators can manage the structure of the project.

Selecting the List View

  • To select the List View menu, click on the  icon in the project banner header.
  • Select List from the dropdown menu

Creating a New Folder

Folders can be used to track the phases and milestones for the project. They can also be used to group tasks or folders that are similar in content or process.

Create a folder using the Folder Icon
  1. Click on the  icon in the project menu at the top right of the screen.
  2. Enter the name of the folder
  3. Click save

The new folder will be created at the top level of the project.

Create a child folder from a parent folder
  1. Click on the  icon in a pre-existing folder in the list view.
  2. Select Add Child Folder from the menu
  3. Enter the name of the folder
  4. Click save

The new folder will be created within the parent folder.

Creating a New Task

Tasks can be used to manage the work within the project. Tasks can be grouped into folders.

Create a Task using the Task Icon
  1. Click on the  icon in the project menu at the top right of the screen.
  2. Complete the new task form by following the  Create New Task instructions.
  3. Click save

The new folder will be created at the root level of the project.

Create a child task from a parent folder
  1. Click on the  icon in a pre-existing folder in the list view.
  2. Select Add Child Task from the menu
  3. Complete the new task form by following the  Create New Task instructions.
  4. Click save

The new task will be created within the parent folder.

Managing the Project

Drag & Drop Folders and Tasks

Project owners can manage the structure of the project by using the drag & drop feature.

Click on any task or folder in the project list and drag it to any folder in the project. When dragging the task or folder, the target folder will change color when selected.

    Notes

  • Dragging a task onto a folder will move the task to the target folder.
  • Dragging a task to the parent folder will move the task up one level in the heirarchy.
  • Dragging a folder to another folder will move the entire contents of the folder to the target folder
  • Dragging a folder to the parent folder will move the entire folder with contents up one level in the heirarchy.

Move Folders and Tasks

Project owners can manage the structure of the project by using the move feature. This feature is useful when using a mobile device or managing larger projects.

    Steps to move a Folder or Task

  1. Click on the  icon in a pre-existing folder or task in the list view.
  2. Select Move from the dropdown menu.
  3. Hover over the target folder for the move and click on that folder.
  4. The menu screen should automatically close.
  5. The task or folder selected for the move should now exist in the targeted folder.
    Notes

  • Moving a task onto a folder will move the task to the target folder.
  • Moving a task to the parent folder will move the task up one level in the heirarchy.
  • Moving a folder to another folder will move the entire contents of the folder to the target folder
