Panel View (aka KanBan)

Overview

The Panel View displays a board view of all project entities including folders, sub folders and tasks. Only Project Administrators can manage the structure of the project.

Selecting the Panel View

  • To select the Panel View menu, click on the  icon in the project banner header.
  • Select Panel from the dropdown menu

Creating a New Panel

Panels can be used to track the phases and milestones for the project. They can also be used to group tasks or subfolders that are similar in content or process.

Create a Panel using the Folder Icon
  1. Click on the  icon in the project menu at the top right of the screen.
  2. Enter the name of the Panel
  3. Click save

The new Panel will be created at the top level of the project.

Create a child subfolder from a parent Panel or subfolder.
  1. Click on the  icon in a pre-existing panel in the panel view.
  2. Select Add Child Subfolder from the menu
  3. Enter the name of the subfolder
  4. Click save

The new subfolder will be created within the parent panel or subfolder.

Creating a New Task

Tasks can be used to manage the work within the project. Tasks can be grouped into panels and subfolders.

Create a Task using the Task Icon
  1. Click on the  icon in the project menu at the top right of the screen.
  2. Complete the new task form by following the  Create New Task instructions.
  3. Click save

The new task will be created at the top level of the project.

Create a child task from a parent folder
  1. Click on the  icon in a pre-existing panel or subfolder in the panel view.
  2. Select Add Child Task from the menu
  3. Complete the new task form by following the  Create New Task instructions.
  4. Click save

The new task will be created within the parent panel or subfolder.

Managing the Project

Drag & Drop Panels, Subfolders and Tasks

Project owners can manage the structure of the project by using the drag & drop feature.

Click on any panel, subfolder or task in the project list and drag it to any panel in the project. When dragging the panel, subfolder or task, the target folder will change color when selected.

Note: When you drag a folder or task to a target panel, the task or folder must be dropped onto the header section of the panel.

    Notes

  • Dragging a task onto a panel or subfolder will move the task to the target panel or subfolder.
  • Dragging a task to the parent subfolder will move the task up one level in the heirarchy.
  • Dragging a task to the parent panel will move the task up to the top level. (Staging Folder)
  • Dragging a panel or subfolder to another panel or subfolder will move the entire contents of the panel or subfolder to the target panel or subfolder.
  • Dragging a subfolder to the parent folder will move the entire folder with contents up one level in the heirarchy.

Move Panels, Subolders and Tasks

Project owners can manage the structure of the project by using the move feature. This feature is useful when using a mobile device or managing larger projects.

    Steps to move a Panel, Subfolder or Task

  1. Click on the  icon in a pre-existing panel, subfolder or task in the panel view.
  2. Select Move from the dropdown menu.
  3. Hover over the target panel/folder for the move and click on that object.
  4. The menu screen should automatically close.
  5. The panel, subfolder or task selected for the move should now exist in the targeted panel or subfolder.
    Notes

  • Moving a task onto a panel or subfolder will move the task to the target panel or subfolder.
  • Moving a task to the parent subfolder will move the task up one level in the heirarchy.
  • Moving a task to the parent panel will move the task up to the top level. (Staging Folder)
